There are 47 faculty members in the School. Among full-time teachers, 11 hold senior professional titles, 18 are doctors or Ph.D candidates, five are certified architects with national first-class qualifications, one certified planner with qualifications, and more than 40% have been a visiting scholar to overseas countries. Many teachers have won municipal- or provincial-level honors and awards.

The School, with an eye to combine art and science, keeps abreast of the international trends of design disciplines, pays attention to interdisciplinary and intercultural teaching research and practice, and constructs a system characterized with “Innovation, Intelligence, Integration, Industry, Internationalization”, or “5I” for short.

In recent years, the School has undertaken a number of national and provincial scientific research projects, including two national science and technology projects, one Youth Fund Project from the Youth Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation under the Ministry of Education, and one Youth Project from Zhejiang Natural Sciences Foundation, with an annual scientific research funds of nearly 4 million yuan ($0.57 million). More than 100 papers including 10 papers in first-class journals, and more than 10 monographs and textbooks have been published so far.

The School has made remarkable achievements in student cultivation and has been highly recognized by the society. The overall employment rate of graduates remains above 95%, 20% among whom have furthered their education abroad. Graduates are favored by famous entities like the College of Architectural Design of Tongji University, Zhejiang Province Institute of Architectural Design and Research, Zhejiang University Institute of Architectural Design, Alibaba and AUX. Many graduates have been admitted by famous universities at home and abroad, such as Architectural Association School of Architecture (UK), Royal College of Art (UK), Rhode Island School of Design (US), Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy), Musashino Art University (Japan), Tama Art University (Japan), Zhejiang University, China Academy of Art, Nanjing University and Beijing Institute of Technology.
