NIT has signed cooperation agreements with Chung Hua University in Taiwan and Southern Taiwan University of Technology, according to which, NIT students qualified for these programs will be on study tour for one semester. Since 2013, there have been 31 students from the School of Media and Design and the School of Information Science and Engineering going to Taiwan for their study.
NIT has created the Student Overseas Exchanges Fund, aiming at encouraging an increasing number of students to participate in foreign exchange activities. Apart from long-term programs, groups of NIT students are on study tour to the University of Indianapolis, Queen's University Belfast, University of Toronto, University of Ottawa, Southern Taiwan University of Technology, and other colleges and universities in the winter vacation and summer vacation each year.
