About the University of Indianapolis
Founded in 1902, the University of Indianapolis (UIndy) is a private, diverse, and comprehensive institution of higher learning. Its 50-acre campus is located near downtown Indianapolis, Indiana (USA). The University of Indianapolis has a distinguished reputation for its high-quality undergraduate programs in teacher education, communications, and the health sciences. UIndy also boasts nationally ranked graduate programs, as well as Centers of Excellence that focus on aging studies and education reform. Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, UIndy takes pride in the personal attention it gives to each student, and in its small, interactive classes. Curriculum is flexible in order to provide a well-rounded education that is customized to each students requirements.
The University of Indianapolis offers a total of 82 undergraduate major programs, with four-year programs leading to a bachelor's degree, and two-year programs leading to an associates degree. UIndy also offers several pre-professional academic programs, as well as 27 masters degree programs, and five doctoral programs. UIndy currently has approximately 5,200 students enrolled at its main campus. Its international extensions include a branch in Athens, Greece, and partnership sites in Asia and Central America.

About the NIT/UIndy Joint Program
Since 2004, UIndy has partnered with Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, to establish joint academic programs in the areas of International Economics and Trade, Finance, and English language studies.
After completing two years of core curriculum at NIT, students enrolled in the Sino-US joint programs have the option of studying at the UIndy campus in the US during the final two years of their bachelors degree program. Students who may prefer to study in China can also elect to complete their degree program at NIT. Under this option, students benefit from six courses taught at the NIT campus by visiting UIndy faculty members.
The NIT-UIndy Sino-American program is fully licensed to conduct and award a certified bachelors degree that is recognized by both the Chinese and American governments.

The Sino-US joint program provides students with the highest quality, western-style university education in a full-immersion, English-language teaching environment. All degree classes are taught in English and follow an American curriculum.

Financial Assistance
Many types of scholarships, grants, and work-study programs are available to students who wish to participate in the Sino-US program. Students who are admitted to the program are automatically considered for any financial aid for which they qualify. A special International Student Grant which pays for 5% to 30% of annual tuition, is available to transfer students who present an above-average GPA or high scores on the SAT, TOEFL and/or IELTS exams.
While studying in the United States, Sino-US students are permitted to work on or near the UIndy campus for up to 20 hours per week with the approval of their tutor, to help pay f or their tuition and living expenses.
