About the University of Wollongong
Established in 1951, the University of Wollongong is a well-known public comprehensive university, which is ranked the Top Ten in Australia and awarded the Annual Excellent University by the Australian government. It is also the Top 2% universities and the 24th youngest university in the world according to the QS World University Rankings. The Leiden Ranking 2013 reported that UWO was ranked the 186th, and its International Trade major was ranked the 80th and Natrology and Engineering major was ranked the 81th, which were ranked at the fifth and third in Australia respectively.
UOW is famous for science and engineering, whose engineering was rated 5 Stars by Australian government. It has 3 campuses, 5 education centers and about 28,900 students. The School of Literature, the School of Economics and Finance, the School of Creative Arts, the School of Education, the School of Engineering, the School of Health and Behavioral Science, the School of Information Science, the School of Law, Neo-Confucianism and Postgraduate Medical School, which offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. About the Program
The two types of the joint education program between NIT and the University of Wollongong as follows:
The Overseas Short-Term Educational Exchange Program
Requirements: Junior students from Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation and Mechatronics majors have opportunity to apply for the program whose academic achievement and English scores in previous three years should satisfy the relative requirements. In last year the credits that students got from Australia could also be available to NIT.
Exchange Program of “3+1+1”
Requirements: Sophomores and above students from any major have opportunity to apply for the program whose GPA、IELTS or TOEFL scores should satisfy the relative requirements. The program will be lasted for one or two semesters. The credits that students got from Australia could also be available to NIT.
In the last year students who successfully complete the program will receive the admission qualification to be a postgraduate student from relative major.
Diplomas and Certificates
College graduates will receive the diploma and bachelors degrees from NIT.
Master graduates from the program will receive the master's degree from the University of Wollongong.
Program Cost
During the program, you will get a tuition waiver and just need to pay for registration fees of the school year to NIT. The tuition of the University of Wollongong are depended to their expense standard.(The tuition standard in 2014:$9400/semester)During the master period of Australia, the tuition of the University of Wollongong are depended to their expense standard.
