At the beginning of this semester, the first foreign visiting scholar, Dr. Maria Elena Indelicato, an Italian, was invited to the school of Media and Design, and she will take this opportunity to set up bilingual courses.

On March 10th, Maria gave a vivid art appreciation class together with Qiu Zitong, an instructor of the School.The whole class centered on Semiotics. They expanded the key word in multiple aspects with some “magical” pictures. The class ended with a group discussion which deepened the students' understanding of Semiotics, and the significant role of Semiotics in art.

Dr. Maria is to carry out a one -year study and research at NIT. During this period, she will undertake the task of teaching some specific curriculums, and cooperate with the teachers here in the projects on film and culture.
