On September 14th, the popular Chinese TV host, Hua Shao, gave a lecture at NIT’s Kezhen Auditorium entitled, “One’s Dream is Just a Joyful Decision.”

Although Hua Shao grew up in a working class family, he eventually became a host for national Voice of China broadcasts. To begin his presentation, he raised two questions: “Do you have a dream?” and “Have you achieved it yet?” He commented, “Life is short! Dreams are important because they are personal goals that represent hope. We must pursue our dreams relentlessly until they become reality.” The students attending the lecture were deeply inspired by his words and enthusiasm.

Wang Lin, from the School of Business, said, “Hua Shao is a great host! He gave us some really good examples of how to pursue one’s dream. He was a bit different than he seems on TV – he has a great sense of humor!” Wang Xiaofang, from the School of Marketing, added, “It was a very enjoyable lecture full of valuable advice for everyone.”
