Concerned about your prospects for a successful career? Dreaming about landing that plum internship? Losing sleep because you are worried about finding any job at all? Then you should check out the NIT Employment Base.

Recently, the NIT Post interviewed Fang Fang, an instructor at the School of Foreign Language Studies, who is in charge of the NIT Employment Base. The following is a transcript of the interview:

Q: Good morning. First, it’s very kind of you to agree to do this interview. Our readers would like to know more about the Employment Base. Many students, and especially the seniors, are very interested in this service. Could you please tell us when it started and how it works?

A: Certainly. It will be my pleasure to introduce your readers to the NIT Employment Base. It was established in 2004. Since then, we have set up 16 different bases aimed at promoting cooperation between NIT and specific business enterprises. Thus far, it has proven to be quite successful.

Q: What is the nature of this cooperation? What do the enterprises contribute?

A: Each year, usually in November or December, representatives from the enterprises visit our school to recruit prospective employees. They interview job applicants and select the students who best meet their requirements. They also offer opportunities for internships.

Q: How can students learn more about which companies are cooperating with NIT through this program?

A: They can find this information on the NIT website. There is quite a lot of helpful information about job-hunting on the website, and it is updated frequently. If a student is interested in working for a specific company, they can visit the company’s official website by simply clicking on a hyperlink.

Q: Thanks very much, Fang Fang, for sharing this useful information about the NIT Employment Base.

A: My pleasure.
