On June 20, 2012, the Enrollment Advisory Council (Ningbo Station) was hosted by the Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University. At this event, representatives of more than 100 universities across China provided information and useful advice to new university student candidates and their parents.

At 8 o’clock in the morning, things got underway. The exhibition hall was immediately crowded with students chatting with the reps and anxious-looking parents perusing university brochures. Everywhere, you could hear people talking about ‘gaokao’ scores and admission requirements. Faculty members from different NIT schools replied patiently to the barrage of questions from students and their parents, and offered information about the estimated passing score to qualify for admission.

As the host of the consultative session, NIT enjoyed a high profile among represented universities. Vice-President Yang Jiangang went to the site to inquire about the expectations of university candidates and to answer questions about admission.

The Enrollment Advisory Council was a great opportunity to promote communication between students, parents, and the faculties of the university or universities they wish to attend. It’s also a convenient way for universities to introduce themselves to the public and foster their school’s image.
