Spring Dermatitis

With the rise in temperature in the springtime, the incidence of spring dermatitis increases greatly. According to experts, spring dermatitis is a type of photosensitive skin disease, mainly caused by an allergic reaction to sunlight or ultraviolet radiation.

Tips: Wear sunscreen when you go outside to prevent your skin from being damaged by the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Do not use make-up that contains a great deal of light-sensitive ingredients. Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits containing Vitamin A. When washing your face, avoid using coarse face cloths, alkaline soap and hot water.

Illness of Excessive Internal Heat

The climate is pleasant in the spring, but there are also frequent high winds and relatively little rain. When the weather is dry, the water in our bodies is easily lost through sweating and respiration. In addition, the changeable weather can have an impact on the balance and stability of one’s metabolic system. If a disorder occurs, it can cause symptoms such as sore throat, dry and cracked lips, and constipation.

Tips: Live a normal life, but maintain a healthy balance between work and rest. Eat more vegetables and fruits; avoid hot or spicy foods. Drink more water to ensure that toxins are eliminated from the body through urine and sweat.

Spring Fever

In the spring, people tend to have “spring fever” -- the feeling of being lazy and wanting to sleep a lot. Lots of factors can cause spring fever, including the weather, work stress, poor diet and irregular sleep patterns. Spring fever can also be a symptom of various health problems.

Tips: Take deep breaths; do some aerobic exercises to increase your lung capacity. Drink more water; avoid greasy and spicy food, especially ‘hot pot’. Eat vegetables and fruits that contain a significant amount of vitamins, such as oranges and cabbage. Consuming a reasonable amount of proteins from meat and fish dishes can also give you more energy.

Insomnia and Depression

In addition to fatigue, insomnia (not being able to sleep well at night) is common in the springtime. Feelings of depression may also occur, and hormone imbalances and general anxiety are quite common.

Tips: It is normal to experience strong emotions in the spring; for this reason, self-monitoring is very important. If you are in a low mood, you can often alleviate the depression by listening to cheerful music, doing some outdoor activities or just breathing the fresh springtime air. If these steps not effective, however, please consider making an appointment for psychological counseling. Depression can become a serious condition.
