Time flies, and it is graduation time once again. Behind their busy schedules and the smiles of countless group photos, this year’s class of graduates is also experiencing a flood of strong emotions and an acute awareness of the attachments they have formed during their four years at NIT. What parting words do these graduates have to share about their Alma Mater? On June 25th, the NIT Post asked several graduates about their college experience.

Chen Songze, a graduate of the School of Biological and Chemical Engineering, said, “I don’t have any regrets about my college years. Kind mentors, loyal friends, and a wealth of activities enriched my daily life. College life is not just about book-learning; it’s also about developing practical skills which will be valuable to us for the rest of our lives.”

A graduate of the School of Foreign Language Studies, Zheng Ruru, sighed, “If I could start my college years over, I would be braver. I’ve missed a lot of opportunities because of my timidity. I always hoped that time would slow down a little so that I could appreciate things more. Now it’s over, and I will certainly miss college life.”

A handsome boy from the School of Information Science and Engineering, He Baoliang, exclaimed, “Looking back, I would like to have fallen in love with a lovely girl when I was a sophomore. I also wish I had learned Japanese as my second foreign language.” He added, “Anyway, I am still satisfied with my college life. After graduating from NIT, I plan to continue my education abroad.”

Dong Hongcheng, from the School of Media & Design, shared his feelings about graduation: “I am an ordinary person; I never wanted to be a chairman of the student community or to win a scholarship. However, I have had a unique college life. I have learned a lot, and I loved the teachers and my classmates.” He also told the reporter, “Although everyone will have a different life, what they all struggle for is to realize their “dream”, and college is a place where we define and clarify our dreams.”
