SHEN Wenming, head of CREEC (East China) Survey and Design Co., Ltd., delivered a lecture on urban rail transit and development of underground space technology at the invitation of the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Mr. SHEN began his lecture by briefing attendees on prospects of civil engineering and the development of underground space in cities across China, after which he introduced designing concepts of metro stations by taking those in cities like Shanghai and Beijing for example. He then further elaborated on the construction and building methods of underground stations. Ningbo’s first ever subway line was cited as an example to help students better understand the rail transit around them in a more professional way.

Mr SHEN'slecture not only let civil engineering majors have a better grasp of the urban rail transit and the development of underground space technology, but also helped them chart a clearer career path.
