The NingboTech delegation led by LUO Shijian, Dean of the School of Design, and WU Chun, Party Secretary of the School, visited the 5G+digital factory of Qixi Group, a pilot and model enterprise for industrial Internet.

Accompanied by FANG Shuguang, Chairman of the group, delegates visited product exhibition halls, manufacturing workshops and intelligent warehouses, where they carefully surveyed the company’s core intelligent equipment, industrial Internet, digital manufacturing MES, AGV, AS/RS intelligent storage, visualized management and control center and 5G application and planning.The 5G+digital factory, capable of effectively managing and controlling five production factors of Man, Machine, Material, Method and Environments (4M1E), has greatly enhanced the company’s operational efficiency and increased the per capita manufacturing capacity.

In the subsequent symposium, LUO briefed the attendees on the basic situation of NingboTech and the School of Design as well as how the School was actively engaged in talent cultivation and research service. He further elaborated on his market-oriented, user-centered and design-powered approach to innovation,which features smart cooperation between universities and enterprises for joint R&D of new household appliances.

The two sides also had in-depth discussions and exchange of views of the industrial development trend and preliminarily agreed upon future cooperation.
