The signing ceremony for the establishment of “Star Scholarship” was held in NingboTech on January 21, which witnessed the attendance of YU Xiaoquan, General Manager of Zhejiang Xinghui Energy Co., Ltd., LU Dongming, Vice President of the university, LU Yanv, head of the Office of Student Affairs, CHEN Meifang, head of the Office of Alumni Affairs, FANG Zhengping, Dean of the School of Biological and Chemical Engineering, LOU Wenjun,Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Biological and Chemical Engineering and other representatives.

“Star Scholarship”, initiated by YU, an outstanding alumnus of the School of Biological and Chemical Engineering, and funded by Zhejiang Xinghui Energy Co., Ltd. where he worked as General Manager, was the first scholarship ever set up by alumni of the school.

At the ceremony, LU expressed his heartfelt thanks to YU and the company for their great support, which served as a vote of confidence in the university’s undertaking of educating and cultivating students. He also hoped that more companies and alumni could strengthen cooperation with NingboTech for talent cultivation, business-education integration and ultimately common development for all sides. YU mentioned that the scholarship was a token of his gratitude to the Alma Mater for her care and support, and hoped that future students could pass on the love and contribute to the development of both the university and society as a whole. FANG pointed out that the scholarship would be made good use of to incentivize students to strive ahead and pursue excellence in academic performance, competitions and innovation. The school would, with the support of alumni and companies, further explore effective ways to cultivate students with practical skills by fully leveraging scholarships.
