To further synergize its own development with the industrial development of Ningbo, the School of Design dispatched a delegation led by LUO Shijian, Dean of the School, to visit Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Jide Electrical Appliance Co., Ltd., two leading manufacturers in the city.

CHU Jiang, Chairman of Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co., Ltd., exchanged views with NingboTech delegates about the ongoing manufacturing project of forklift trucks and accompanied the guests to workshops where the latter were shown product lines and various types of forklift trucks. LUO expounded on the School's talent cultivation system, discipline features, scientific research, and detailed the research foundation and typical cases of as well as future plans for the industry-university-research institute integration. The two sides had in-depth discussions about possible future cooperation such as co-establishing joint labs, nurturing students together and hosting design competitions by fully leveraging each other's resources in industrial design.

The delegates then paid a visit to Ningbo Jide Electrical Appliance Co., Ltd., where they were shown the company's refrigerators and washing machines. The two sides discussed the principle behind the design of MINIJ washing machines, a product that was in vogue recently, and explored possibilities of future cooperation. In light of the company's needs in user data analysis and user experience iteration, LUO introduced the School's relevant resource, scientific research and previous cooperation with companies, with a focus on how it had helped companies collect and analyze data, as well as upgrade the user experience. The two sides also discussed how to carry out future cooperation.
