The Oriental Star Scholarship Donation Ceremony was held in the Polish Studies Center on May 19th. Officiated at by REN Kai, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the School of International Studies, the ceremony was attended by QIN Lin, head of Ningbo branch of New Oriental, the largest provider of private educational services in China, CHEN Yuanhua, General Manager of the International Training Center of Ningbo branch of New Oriental, ZHANG Ting, General Manager of Ningbo New Oriental Vision Overseas Consulting Co. Ltd., HUANG Guangjie, Secretary of NingboTech Commission for Discipline Inspection, CHEN Meifang, Deputy Director of Admissions and Career Guidance Office, ZHOU Chunxiao, Deputy Director of Student Affairs Office, WANG Xiaolu, Dean of the School of International Studies, FU Xiaoyu, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the School, CAI Liang and ZHOU Wen, Deputy Deans of the School.

HUANG Guangjie extended sincere gratitude to Ningbo branch of New Oriental for its generosity and hoped that the two sides could further complement each other through resource sharing so as to provide stronger impetus for student training. He also expected students to be diligent and make greater contribution to China’s socio-economic development.

QIN Lin explained the motive for setting up such a scholarship and promised that the company would help students realize their full potential in the future, which would in turn promote more intensive university-enterprise cooperation in all aspects. After the two sides signed the donation agreement, FU Xiaoyu pledged that the School would select scholarship recipients in a transparent and fair way.

The scholarship, presented to high achievers in English-related tests or competitions like TOEFL and IELTS, serves as encouragement for students to face up to challenges and constantly improve themselves.
