FANG Qing and QUO Shanna, two International Business majors from Business School, shared their views in the sub-forum of the 2021 Annual Conference of Chinese Sociological Association held in southwestern China’s Chongqing municipality on July 18th.

The two students, first introduced to management and organization theories as freshmen under teachers’ guidance, completed their first ever academic paper entitled Urban Community Governance Evolution and Women’s Participation, in which they delve into subjects of philanthropy and resilient communities. The paper, focusing on women’s participation and involvement in establishing the community of neighborhood governance from women’s perspective, puts forward targeted ways for women to be involved in the process. As the only undergraduate students selected into the sub-forum, the two students had in-depth discussions with postgraduates, doctoral students, experts and scholars present.

Over 60 young scholars, experts and editors were invited to the sub-forum which centers around “Building Society through Philanthropy”. Serving as a platform for multi-disciplinary academic exchanges and dialogues in philanthropy, the forum aims to better facilitate social development by integrating philanthropy with sociology.
