The delegation led by CHU Jiang, Chairman of Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co., Ltd., and GE Zhouze, deputy head of Science and Technology Bureau of Ninghai County, visited the School of Design on September 9th, during which they had in-depth discussions on how to promote government-industry-university-research collaboration with university officials including FENG Jianbo, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of NingboTech University, YU Zaihe, deputy head of Research Office, LUO Shijian, Dean of the School of Design, WU Chun and YE Weishu, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the School of Design, and ZHAO Jianguo, Deputy Dean of the School.

FENG warmly welcomed the visitors and noted that as a comprehensive university with a sound foundation of government-industry-university-research cooperation, NingboTech looks forward to deeper collaboration and is ready to earnestly implement cooperation projects.

GE Zhouze and YU Zaihe gave a brief overview of the two-way cooperation. GE suggested that the local government should promote more targeted collaboration that accommodates companies' needs. YU hoped that the university could carry out substantive cooperation with companies like Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co., Ltd.

CHU Jiang and LUO Shijian briefed the attendees on the foundation of the two-way cooperation. CHU noted that the company is badly in need of support from institutions of higher learning like NingboTech University as the company plans to independently manufacture core spare parts and develop innovative products. Considering the national strategy and the 14th Five-Year Plan, LUO suggested that the School's disciplinary edges should be fully leveraged to remove technical bottlenecks hindering application. Efforts should be made to set up interdisciplinary platforms and accelerate technology transfer so as to enable rapid development of businesses in the lower reaches of the industrial chain.

The two sides also exchanged their views on project application, competition organization and joint training of professionals. They concluded the meeting by signing a strategic cooperation agreement which is aimed at promoting government-industry-university-research cooperation and laying a solid foundation for the service sector by fully leveraging each other's advantages.

Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co., Ltd., established in 1985, is a high-tech enterprise incorporating R&D, manufacturing, sale and service. The company mainly manufactures storage and logistics equipment such as forklift trucks, platform trucks and order pickers.
