The Second "TI Cup" RSLK Mobile Robot Competition, which was organized by the School of Information Science and Engineering and sponsored by Texas Instruments, successfully ended on September 9th. Starting on August 21st, the competition attracted 113 students in 38 teams, who were spurred to throw themselves into science and innovation.

Contestants were required to design and assemble mobile robots using Texas Instruments' MSP432P401R microcontroller and the RSLK development kit. 113 competitors, starting with the basics, figured out the vehicle structure by trial and error, got familiar with how the chips operated and mastered the methods of developing embedded systems. Guided by theories about, among others, FSM (Finite-State Machine) and real-time systems, students forged ahead and developed increasingly stable and perfectly serviceable mobile robots.

The competition, having changed rules this time, required competitors to design mobile robots capable of moving to the designated place and completing a set of movements. The teams were graded according to the points they scored and how fast they finished the task.

Invited to comment on students' performance, Marcos, a foreign teacher of NingboTech, had in-depth discussions with contestants about the designs, strategies, and probems in English.

The School of Information Science and Engineering, having long attached great importance to students' all-round development, always encourages students to take part in various competitions. It has implemented a lot of cooperation projects together with Texas Instruments.
