Joy Edmonson, lecturer of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), delivered a lecture on the cultural concepts in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and how they can facilitate EAP teaching at the invitation of the School of International Studies on October 12th. Presided over by Associate Professor SUN Guangping, the lecture attracted over 30 teachers and students.

Edmonson clarified the basic concepts in EAP, and illustrated the characteristics of EAP and basic rules and principles that must be followed by citing vivid examples.

She then lectured on how to improve EAP teaching. She shared some useful websites for English learning and presented how to teach EAP by using those websites.

The three-and-a-half-hour lecture was illuminating.
