Hosted by NingboTech University and Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Association with the support of the university's Center for Social Computing and Data Management, the seminar on the development of the AI industry was held on November 12th. Over 30 representatives from Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Association, colleges and universities and companies including PANG Chaoyi, Dean of the School of Computing and Data Engineering, YU Xin, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the School of Computing and Data Engineering, and HUANG Chao, head of Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Industry Research Institute and Director-General of Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Association, attended the event.

Attendees were first shown around Baoxing Joint Lab on IT Innovation, Ningbo Engineering Research Center for Urban Intelligent Technology and Its Application, and BWG Joint Lab on Big Data and AI, where they were briefed on the basic situation, technical scope and scientific research results of the three labs.

HUANG Chao gave a brief introduction to the background against which Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Association was set up, and progress towards a digital and intelligent city of Ningbo. SHU Zhenyu of the School of Computing and Data Engineering briefly introduced the School. Participants then had a lively discussion about the development of the AI industry, student training and production-education-research cooperation.

PANG Chaoyi mentioned in his concluding remarks that since production-education-research integration is an important measure to promote scientific innovation and transformation, NingboTech would build a bridge connecting the university, the government and companies alike by fully leveraging professional platforms like Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Association, so as to make intellectual contribution to the AI industry and better serve Ningbo's economic development.
