President YANG Deren inspected the International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Base for Concrete Structure Durability Studies of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture on November 24th. Chaired by ZHANG Kefeng, Dean of the School, the meeting was attended by other School officials, persons in charge of Research Office, Finance Office and General Affairs Office as well as teacher representatives.

XU Yidong, who is in charge of the base's daily operation, reported on the measures taken to address problems and its future plans. For his part, ZHANG Kefeng detailed the difficulties faced by the base in its daily operation, talent introduction and international cooperation. WANG Yinhui, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the School, suggested the base should also focus on interdisciplinary studies as well.

President YANG stressed that the base, as an important scientific platform of the university, should focus its attention on the following aspects: First, to establish an operational mechanism featuring clearly defined responsibilities and optimized research focuses; second, to take the initiative to integrate resources boasted by Zhejiang University and Ningbo with those of NingboTech so as to continuously inject vitality to the base; third, to think ahead and synergize its own development with the discipline group of Smart Port and Service.
