Prof. FANG Zhengping, dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Prof. SHEN Haoyu, head of the university's Academic Affairs Office, and other university officials visited Ningbo Plastic Industry Association on April 8, during which they had an in-depth exchange of views with staff of the institution about how to develop the major of Polymer Materials and Engineering, train students and facilitate business-university integration.

Secretary General YU Weixing extended a warm welcome to the visitors and gave a brief introduction to the organization's structure, corporate membership as well as pain points and problems facing those members. FANG Zhengping briefed the host on the characteristics and advantages of the university's Polymer Materials and Engineering major, bases for business-university integration, industrial college and training of innovative students, among others. Both sides believed that it is an important task to strengthen ties between universities and local industrial associations, closely follow the changes in corporate needs, build majors in collaboration with businesses and train application-oriented students, since it's the path enterprises must follow in order to realize quality development. They also agreed to carry out comprehensive cooperation in areas such as the training of innovative specialists in chemical new materials.
