University officials including Vice President ZHANG Xianmin, ZHENG Yi, deputy secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the School of Information Science and Engineering, and TAO Jili and QIU Jun, deputy deans of the School, visited Ningbo Industrial Internet Institute on May 13.

ZHUANG Kaiyu, deputy director of the Institute, gave a detailed introduction to the organization's history, development philosophy, achievements and the membership. The two sides then had an in-depth exchange of views on issues like supOS, the first Chinese IP industrial operating system, professionals training, teamwork, platform building, and the establishment of an industrial college, among others. Both sides agreed that it's both viable and meaningful to carry out cooperation around supOS.

SupOS, an industrial operating system combining the integrated industrial big data platform, industrial intelligent app configuration development platform, industrial big data analysis platform, industrial artificial intelligence engine service, industrial intelligent app, etc., sets up a unified three-tier architecture connecting cloud (cloud Internet platform), enterprises (factory Internet platform) and end (edge computing node), and makes the integrated interaction of management and control possible. SupOS is to industry what Android system and app store are to smart phones in that apps can also be downloaded and combined in a flexible manner. This system is like the intelligent brain of a digitized industrial enterprise. During the transition from Industry 3.0 to Industry 4.0, the core of the latter being intelligence, a large number of industrial enterprises, hindered by common problems such as information island and a lack of top-level design, are unable to turn the huge amount of data they possess into core value.
