Kicking off the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Joint Programs between NingboTech University and the University of Indianapolis (UIndy), the NingboTech International Education Forum was held on June 6th. Prof. ZHANG Rongxiang, NingboTech Vice President, Dr. Chris Plouff, UINDY Provost and Vice President, Dr. Vivian Xiang, Director for UINDY's International Programs, Dr. FU Xiang, Director of the International Affairs Office of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, as well as faculty and student representatives attended.
In his speech, Prof. ZHANG Rongxiang noted that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. Over the past twenty years, NingboTech has collaborated with UINDY in offering joint programs in International Economy and Trade and Finance. Guided by the vision of internationalized education, NingboTech is dedicated to encouraging students to participate in international exchanges, continuously equipping the faculty with global competence, and creating an international teaching environment.
In his speech, Dr. Chris Plouff mentioned that as colleges and universities in the US are increasingly aiming for internationalization, the joint programs with NingboTech are a significant initiative in its internationalization endeavor. He expressed his hope that the two universities could continue to work together in the future to make more brilliant achievements building on numerous mutual visits and exchanges in the past twenty years.
Following the gift exchange, MA Xiang, Party Secretary of Business School, delivered a speech, in which he reviewed the origin and development of the Sino-US joint programs and showcased the achievements made over the past two decades. Dr. Vivian Xiang hoped that both sides could further deepen cooperation to improve the quality of international education. Dr. FU Xiang shared Zhejiang Sci-Tech University's valuable experiences and practices in running joint programs with the United States.
NingboTech's joint programs with UIndy have trained a total of over 1,600 students, nearly a thousand of whom have pursued their studies in prestigious universities abroad.
