In the afternoon of April 8, 2016, Ningbo Institute of Quality Development Studies was established by Ningbo Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University. Chen Zhongchao, Deputy Mayor of t Ningbo Municipal Government, Zheng Debing, Director of Ningbo Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, and Jin Weiliang, President of NIT, attended the founding ceremony and signed the contract on the behalf of the respective three parties.

The Institute aims at conducting inter-disciplinary and multi-level research on quality development by making the fullest use of the multidisciplinary research resources of NIT and of the quality management resources of Ningbo Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. It will dedicate itself to the regional quality and management talents training programs along with the scientific research and policy consultation service.
