The first Zhejiang Robot Competition was held in Hangzhou Science and Technology Market between May 20 and May 22, 2016. More than 200 teams from 27 universities, including Zhejiang University, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Zhejiang University of Technology, participated in the competition. NIT students won three third prizes and two participation awards with instruction of three teachers: Qiu Jun, He Xiaoqi, Li Yingdao.

 
The NIT-Robot (Cao Keye, Qian Yuan, Lin Jian), The Batmobile (Shen Zichao, Zhang Xin, Jin Huikang) and Yiquan Superman (Zhang Kaifeng, Lin Rui, Zhu Chaolin) won the third prize respectively. The Fox in Desert (Zhu Haifeng, Zhuang Yudi, Shi Zichao) and Super Man (Guo Junshan, Hu Caigen, Zhang Ying) won participation award respectively. Under the instruction of Professor Qiu Jun, Professor He Xiaoqi and Professor Li Yingdao, after six months hard work, they finally made it.
The competition was sponsored by Department of Higher Education, Education Bureau of Zhejiang Province. It aims to encourage students to conduct interdisciplinary research and cultivate students awareness of teamwork and cooperation.
