The news was released from the National Science and Technology Department that the project “Research and demonstration of the key technologies of solar energy and low impact development in rural areas” led by Professor Jin Weiliang, President of NIT, was funded by the National Key Technology R & D Program. The total project fund is 5.4 million yuan and 3.31 million yuan has been transferred to the NIT account so far.
It is the first time that NIT has assumed the responsibility for this key national program and it is also the first time that the independent colleges like NIT have assumed the responsibility for this key national program. Cooperating with China Academy of Building Research and Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Jin Weiliang was to lead his team to do research on how to the problems of energy shortage and environmental pollution in Yangtze River Delta Region by making full use of solar energy technology. The team is going to devoted itself to a new urbanization model of sustainable development in rural areas of China.
