NIT Achieves Scientific and Technological Breakthroughs

Good news came from Ningbo Municipal Government that President of NIT, Professor Jin Weiliangs project “The improvement and application of durability of coastal concrete structure” was awarded the first prize in Ningbo Progress Prize in Scientific and Collective Technology, the top prize of science and technology award in Ningbo. This project has changed the traditional electrochemical method which may lead to the unidirectional exudation of harmful ions into concrete, and make anti-corrosion material penetrate into concrete, which greatly improves the durability of concrete structure. This method has been applied to the building of Zhoushan Cross-sea Bridge (Zhejiang), Hangzhou Cross-sea Bridge (Zhejiang) and Lianyungang Port (Jiangsu).
Professor Mei Lehes project “Theoretical and methodological exploration of directed evolution technology to improve catalytic performance of enzyme” and Professor Xie Xinyus project “The research on key technology of sea mud solidification and its application” were both awarded the second prize in Ningbo Progress Prize in Scientific and Collective Technology.
