On the morning of August 30, 2015, Convocation Ceremony for Freshmen 2015 was held in the North Playground. Professor Wu Chaohui, President of Zhejiang University, Jin Weiliang, President of NIT and Fei Yingqin, Party Secretary of NIT, the freshmen and some of their parents attended the ceremony.

Professor Wu warmly welcomed the freshmen and encouraged them to be honest, courageous, diligent and ambitious to realize their own values in the society. He said: “We are lucky enough to live in this great country in this great era We are lucky enough to live in this open globalized world. I hope that you, my dear students, open the door to the future with your feet always on the ground.” Professor Jin sincerely wished that the freshmen would have knowledge, use knowledge and think critically to be whole persons with moral integrity, ambition and capabilities.
The honor roll for the freshmen scholarship was also announced in this ceremony.
