On April 4th, 2015, Jin Weiliang, President of NIT signed an agreement of cooperation with Andy Cheerly, English Language Institute/China (ELIC) Director in the NITs Administration Building. According to the agreement, ELIC will dispatch qualified teachers from North America, and the first group of foreign teachers will come to their positions for intercultural communication no later than August, 2015.

At the meeting, Professor Jin said that education reform requires the involvement of foreign teachers in the NITs new period of rapid development and that high-quality foreign teachers are also needed in college English teaching for non-English majors. He expressed his warm welcome to ELICs cooperation with NIT.
ELIC is a non-profit educational organization, whose headquarters is in Colorado. Since 1981 they have been placing passionately committed people in teaching roles across Asia, who primarily serve through the medium of English instruction. They accomplish this through recruiting, training and sending men and women from the USA, Canada and other countries, to meet the ever-growing demand for quality English education in Asia. In 1982, ELIC sent their first team to China and presently serve on more than 40 vibrant university campuses across the country. Over the last three decades hundreds of thousands of Chinas most gifted and promising students have come through their classrooms before taking influential positions in virtually every walk of life.
