On May 17, 2015, NIT won the championship in the undergraduate group in the 14th Zhejiang College Students Structural Design. Huzhou Vocational and Technical College won the first prize in the group of junior colleges. On behalf of Zhejiang province, the delegation of NIT will attend the National College Students Structural Design Competition 2015 in Kunming University of Science and Technology this October.

The three-day competition themed “Beam Structure in a Collision” was hosted by Committee of Science and Technology Competition for Zhejiang College Students and organized by Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University (NIT). The participants include approximately 100 teams from 48 universities and colleges, consisting of 450 teachers and students. Every team used integrated bamboos, cotton threads and other materials to make a bridge structure model, which maintains intensity and stability under the vertical static load and horizontal load in a collision.
Zhejiang College Students Structural Design Competition is a traditional event, which has been attracting interests in all universities, colleges and all circles of the society in Zhejiang province.
