On June 5th 2015, the opening ceremony of Dayi Teahouse, a charity project, was held at NIT, which marks the establishment of its first chain teahouses in universities.

Fei Yingqin, Party Secretary of NIT, unveiled the nameplate together with Zhao Chengjun, representatrive of Yunnan Dayi Charitable Foundation. Professor Zhang Zhonggen, Dean of the School of Management and Pan Junyao, a senior tea-assessor, also attended the ceremony.
Mr. Fei expressed his sincere thanks to the foundations donation for education. He said that Ningbo was abundant in cultural heritages and famous for china, tea and silk fabrics since the ancient times, which echoes the spirit of love of traditional culture in the slogan of Dayi. Mr. Zhao also gave a brief speech, hoping that NIT will manage the teahouse successfully.
Yu Jing, a freshman from the School of Management, gave a wonderful tea performance, and Ms. Pei Yuhui gave a lecture on tea culture.
It is said that a team of student from the School of Management will be responsible for its management and all the profits are to be donated to charity of NIT.
