This summer, NIT “Beyond the Voices” Team set out to interview successful Chinese entrepreneurs in Ningbo, Hangzhou and Wenzhou. When they were back at NIT, the NIT Post staff had a chance to interview some of the participants of the activity.
Zhang Jingyan, the leading teacher of the Wenzhou team of “Beyond the Voices”, shared with us some joys and sorrows of this summer experience. She said, “Most of team members are very self- disciplined and active. Students get well prepared for their work. They think about proper questions that can be used in the interviews of those successful entrepreneurs.”
Ms. Zhang praised Wang Zhaolu, the leader of the Wenzhou team, saying that she was very helpful and fulfilled all tasks diligently and perfectly. Ms. Zhang also said, “Most of the entrepreneurs respond positively to our request for a interview. We learn a lot during the communications with them and we are treated well. The bosses regard college students as future of our nation and have great expectations for them.”
Zhu Xiaotong and Li Xinxin, who also took part in “Beyond the Voices” last year, performed better this time in organizing the activity and conducting interviews.
Zhu Xiaotong, the leader of the Hangzhou team, talked a lot about her recent experience. Being the team leader, she felt great pressure, but at the same time, she was highly motivated. She said, “We made quite a lot of preparations ahead. We even invited a teacher who specialized in mass media to guide us to write questions for interviews.” As for what she got from ;Beyond the Voices, she said, “I think I am more experienced in interpersonal communication, because I have to be brave enough to talk with entrepreneurs as well as to communicate with teachers and team members.” She stuck to the idea of “learning by doing” and hoped that more and more students could join “Beyond the Voices” Team.
