NIT Technical Projects Win Awards at NTIA 2013

Recently, the results of the 2013 Ningbo Technological Invention Awards competition were announced. Four NIT projects made it onto the list of finalists, and two of them won top prizes:

He Qixin, from the School of Information Science and Engineering, designed and completed a project entitled, “A special LED light source module for road lighting, and industrial development of the whole lamp”. Li Wei, from the NIT Department of Law, submitted his project, “Cultivation of knowledge about intellectual property in enterprises against the backdrop of self-innovation.” Both of these projects were awarded third prizes.

In recognition of exceptional work, the project, “Development of appliances and key technologies for pressure cylinder outer castings in 1-million-kW ultra-supercritical steam turbines,” which was co-authored by Jia Zhixin and his team, won first prize.

Gao De and Zhang Xuechang, from the School of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, were instrumental in the successful design and realization of the project, “Development of key technologies in the Geely Emgrand EC718 which meet or exceed the European NCAP standard.” This project, which won second prize at this years Ningbo Technological Invention Awards, represents the first time that an NIT engineering team has cooperated directly with a business enterprise – in this case, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd., based in Hangzhou.
