Recently, the winners of the 2nd Zhejiang Campus Singing Competition 2013 were announced. Pan Xiaoyang, a Marketing major at NIT, won the first prize in the eastern division college students group.

The competition, called ;Flying Youth!, was jointly hosted by the Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department, the Civilization Administration Office, the League Committee, the Provincial Education Department, and the Provincial Student Association. Its aim is to create a positive and healthy school culture, and to promote a modern, culture-oriented lifestyle. The widely-recognized and extensive competition, which attracted over 5,000 contestants, was held over a six-month period, from May through November, 2013. In addition, it has been developed as a brand activity for cultural construction at Zhejiang campuses and provides a grand stage upon which young students can display their musical talents.

In a 2012 singing competition, Pan was honored as a ;Campus Top-Ten Singer. Pan loves the performing arts and is passionate about music. At this years contest, Pan exhibited a confident stage presence and demonstrated a high level of achievement in the art of singing to ;wow the panel of judges, bring down the audience, and win the first prize in his division.
