At the recent convention of the 55th China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, it was announced that a number of financial grants will be awarded for postdoctoral work in a range of academic fields. Postdoctoral researcher Dong Yupeng, of the NIT Department of Law, in cooperation with his academic supervisors, Jin Pengnian and Li Mingde, won the second-prize award. This is the first time that the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation has awarded a grant for legal research.

The foundation has an interdisciplinary approach to funding postdoctoral work which has the potential to produce new ideas, innovations, and strategies in the advancement of the sciences in China. First-prize awards receive a project grant of 80,000 RMB, and second-prize awards receive 50,000 RMB.
