At the recently-held Zhejiang Science and Technology Awards Conference, it was announced that Associate Professor Shen Bin of the NIT School of Management, in cooperation with Professor Liu Yuan and his research team from the School of Management Science and Engineering, won Second Prize in the 2013 Zhejiang Science and Technology Awards. This prize – one of the most coveted in the field – was awarded for the schools joint research project, ;Technology Roadmap of Zhejiangs Internet-of-Things Industry.
The NIT research project was sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation and funded by the Chinese Academy of Engineering Project as part of the ;Strategic Research on the Development of Future Internet Technology and the Internet of Things initiative. Publications such as the Scientific Times and Southern Weekly have reported on this research initiative as part of a special report presented by the National Development and Reform Commission at the 12th Five-Year Developmental Strategic Planning Conference. The advanced research of the NIT School of Management team was accepted by the leaders of Zhejiang province, and will be applied to the provincial strategic design, ;The Wisdom of Zhejiang.
Professor Shen Bin of the School of Management served as technical director for the NIT research project, and was responsible for overseeing the design of the technological roadmap for a Ningbo ;Internet of Things. This roadmap has been adopted by the Ningbo Municipal Committee, and will be applied as part of Ningbos future development strategy.
