On April 26th and 27th, the first session of the “Yunlin Cup” Go Championship for University Students in Zhejiang Province was held at Zhejiang Gongshang University. The competition was hosted by the Zhejiang University Students Sports Association and sponsored by Zhejiang Gongshang University. Yao Tie, Lin Sixing, Li Lintao, Wang Yina, and Yang Lingyun were selected to represent NIT at the championship. To prepare for the challenging event, these students trained intensely for nearly a month.

After six rounds of competition with Weiqi players from Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Zhejiang Ocean University, The University of Nottingham at Ningbo, Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology, and the Master of Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, the NIT group placed seventh and also won the Sportsmanship Award. Journalism major Wang Yina, from class 132 of the School of Media and Design, won seventh place in the womens group.
