On April 14th, the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture held a ceremony to welcome the appointment of Professor Dong Ping, from the University of Dundee in Scotland, to the position of Adjunct Professor at NIT. Professor Jin Weiliang, President of NIT, extended a cordial welcome to Professor Dong, presented him with a Certificate of Appointment, and thanked him for his participation in this academic exchange.

Professor Dong is an outstanding Chinese scholar who has been working abroad for many years, and who has made admirable achievements in his academic field. His civil engineering team will cooperate with NIT teams in the field of marine disaster prevention and mitigation in Zhejiang Province.

To conclude the welcoming ceremony, Professor Dong gave a speech to the assembled teachers and students on the technical subject of sediment concentration and settling velocities in high-viscosity mud environments.
