On April 26th and 27th, the 1st Yunlin Cup Zhejiang Provincial Collegiate Weiqi Championship was held at Zhejiang Gongshang University. The competition was hosted by the Zhejiang Province Collegiate Athletic Association and was organized by Zhejiang Gongshang University. Yao Tie, Lin Sixing, Li Lintao, Wang Yina, and Yang Lingyun participated in the competition on behalf of NIT.

The championship began with two days of ;hand-talk instruction from a weiqi master from the Hangzhou Lingyin Temple. Afterwards, several competitive rounds were held between contestants from Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Zhejiang Ocean University, the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, and Hangzhou Dianzi University. Members of the NIT team performed very well, winning Seventh Place and the Sportsmanship Award. Wang Yina, a journalism major, also won the Seventh Place prize in the female division.
