On October 26th, the 12th Annual NIT Athletic Meet opened with great fanfare on the north sports field. Many NIT leaders attended the opening ceremony, and NIT Vice President Yang Jiangang presided. As part of the opening ceremony, representatives of the competing athletes and the judges of the events took an oath to fulfill their duties responsibly at this years meet.

Party Secretary Fei Yingqin announced the commencement of the athletic events and Yu Chunming, Vice President of NIT, delivered the opening speech.

Yu expressed his best wishes for the 12th athletic meet to the students, teachers, university leaders, and visitors assembled on the field. He noted that the Partys education policies are being fully implemented at NIT, and that participation in sports clearly improves students overall health and academic ability. In closing, he affirmed NITs many achievements in sports over the years and added that he has continued high expectations for our young athletes.
