The Volunteer Service Association Clover of the School of Foreign Language Studies has won the Third Ningbo Charity Award. This honor bears witness to the social work and public service that is performed on a regular basis by many NIT students.

Hundreds of foreign language majors have participated in the Association since it was established in 2007. Its programs have provided personal aid and comfort to thousands of cancer patients. Rain or shine, student volunteers would travel to the Ningbo Li Huili Hospital to visit patients who often were nearing the end of their lives. The volunteers expressed their care by friendly chatting and helped to comfort them in various ways such as gentle massage.

For years, this ;love baton has been passed down from seniors to juniors. The example that is being set by these NIT students clearly demonstrates how the concept “Caring for others, caring the society” can benefit both individuals and society as a whole.
