Fu Bingqing, Secretary-General of the Green Wind Environmental Protection Association of NIT, attended the Youth Forum of the 15th Tripartite Environment Ministers Meeting between China, Japan and South Korea (TEMM), which was held on May 5th and 6th in Kitakyushu (北九州), Japan. As the one of the five representatives from China, Fu was granted a personal interview by the NIT Post.

Fu said, “During our days in Japan, I and the other delegates were deeply impressed by the extent to which sustainable development has been integrated into all aspects of daily life in Japan, for example, extracting fiber from shells to make clothes and making paper from bamboo instead of trees.” She then added, “I also deeply believe in the tremendous strength and dedication of Chinas young generation when it comes to environmental protection. As was the case in Japan and South Korea, most environmental protection activities in China have been launched by young people.” Fu emphasized that she would fulfill her responsibilities and obligations to protect the environment in her daily life.

Recently, the Green Wind Environmental Protection Association launched a series of garbage sorting activities both in Ningbo City communities and on the NIT campus. In addition, it put forward a proposal for “Earth Hour” activities in Liansheng Square and Tianyi Square, which greatly enhanced the environmental protection awareness of Ningbo citizens.
