From July 28th through August 25th, eight NIT students participated in the International Leadership Training Program held in Toronto, Canada by the University of Toronto. A total of 42 students, including undergraduates from Zhejiang University and China Jiliang University, participated in the program.

This years program was the first of its kind that has been organized by the University of Toronto. It is comprised mainly of intensive courses in English and in the field of international leadership. Members of the University faculty used a scientific approach to explain concepts of importance to international students looking to assume leadership roles in the future. The Chinese students interacted frequently with their teachers and with other foreign students, thereby deepening their understanding of global cultures. By attending this program, students not only enhanced their English and leadership abilities, but also strengthened their academic foundations for future study and work. In their spare time, students visited the Thousand Islands region as well as the spectacular Niagara Falls, which is located on the Canada/U.S. border.

The University of Toronto, founded in 1827, is one of the top research universities in the world. It is currently ranked 19th in the world and 1st in Canada by the Thames 2012 World University Rankings system.
