On the afternoon of March 25, 2013, Wang Meng, a famous cultural expert and writer, gave a lecture entitled “The Wisdom of Lao Tse” as part of this years Ningbo Celebrity Forum.

Wang Meng, the treasured 80-year-old Pro-minister of the Ministry of Culture, and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Writers Association, was warmly welcomed in Ningbo. Yang Liping, member of the Standing Committee of Municipal Committee and a minister of the Organization Ministry of Ningbo, hosted the forum. Fei Yingqin, Secretary of the Party Committee, was also in attendance.

Wangs lecture illuminated the writings and thoughts of Lao Tse using both wit and humor. He discussed how the teachings of Taoism had become an integral part of his own life experience. Wang showed the appreciative audience a new way of understanding the role of misfortune in life as a source of emotional solace and healthy social relationships. Everyone was deeply impressed by the eloquence and wisdom of Lao Tse and Wang Meng.
