In order to deepen the comprehensive cooperation between Ningbo city and NIT, as well as maximize the advantages of both parties, NITs School of Media and Design has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the peoples government of Jishigang township, Yinzhou district. The agreement includes a financial component of 3 million RMB. Wang Chifeng, Vice Mayor of Jishigang township, attended the signing ceremony.

The aim of the agreement is to develop a synergistic relationship based on the industrial characteristics of Jishigang town and the advantages of scientific research at NIT. Both sides agreed to promote the advantages of newly-developed industries in the township. This will involve the founding of industry-specific institutes for applied service and research in an effort to build an integrated public service platform. This platform will consist of research and development activities, consulting services, as well as programs for business training and talent cultivation. The key academic fields for this service platform will include the application of new forms of media, an emphasis on cultural creativity, and innovation in industrial design methodologies.

This strategic agreement promises to be an excellent example of productive and practical cooperation between NIT researchers and local industry, and represents a major step on the way to achieving the tripartite goal of ;discipline, talents and scientific research.
