On the afternoon of May 9th, 2013, Jiang Shengxiang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Education Working Committee and Deputy Director-General of the Education Department of Zhejiang Province, gave a lecture at NIT about the internationalization of college education. Fei Yingqin, Secretary of the Party Committee of NIT, presided over the lecture.

In his lecture, Jiang Shengxiang outlined the current status and existing problems in internationalizing higher education across the province. He then offered an analysis of the official Program for the Development of Education Internationalization in Zhejiang Province (2010—2020) and discussed with teacher and student delegates several ideas on how to boost educational internationalization at NIT. Mr. Jiang pointed out that higher education in Zhejiang province benefits from relatively favorable circumstances, and that its nationwide prominence in the field of education internationalization is continuing to exert considerable influence both at home and abroad. He added that there are, however, many problems which must be addressed. In closing, Mr. Jiang emphasized the importance of clarifying program goals to improve higher education for the mutual benefit of academic institutions and students.

Following the lecture, and accompanied by the leaders of NIT, Jiang Shengxiang visited local exhibitions on education achievement and practical teaching reformation. During his tour, he spoke enthusiastically of NITs many achievements over the last twelve years.
