NIT President Jin Weiliang Visits UWA

On October 30th, NIT President Jin Weiliang visited the University of Western Australia (UWA). He participated in friendly talks with leaders and professors of UWA to discuss issues of common interest, including interaction between students and academic exchanges between teachers.
On behalf of UWA, Brett Nener, Dean of the Electronics and Computer Engineering School, warmly welcomed President Jin. He commented on the developing friendship between western Australia and Zhejiang Province, and on UWAs positive cooperation with Zhejiang University. Mr. Nener spoke about current affairs at UWA, and noted that he very much looks forward to visiting NIT in mid-November, when he will travel to China to attend a scheduled academic conference.
President Jin gave a brief introduction to NIT, spoke about NITs achievements in scientific research, and expressed his eagerness to cooperate with UWA. President Jin and Mr. Nener exchanged gifts as a symbol of friendship between their respective institutions.
Jins visit to UWA was his first official visit to a foreign university. As part of his tour of Oceania, he will also visit the University of Victoria, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, and Massey University, as well as other well-known universities in Australia and New Zealand as part of his continuing efforts to develop academic communication and cooperation.
