A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the NIT environmental volunteer service station at Ningbo Childrens Park was held this November. Chen Yang, Minister of the Green Wind Environment Protection Association of NIT, delivered the opening speech, advocating that all students should do their best to protect the environment. Lin Ti, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of Ningbo and Secretary of the Youth League Committee, announced the founding of the volunteer service station, and leaders cut the ribbon to symbolically begin the service. Several entertaining performances, as well as a Q&A session related to environmental protection concerns, were enjoyed by those attending the ceremony, including a number of children who appeared quite receptive to the idea of environmental protection. At the end of the ceremony, members of the Green Wind Environment Protection Association handed out reusable, eco-friendly carry bags to guests.

This and many other similar events across Zhejiang province which share the goal of raising environmental awareness have attracted the attention of local and national media such as China Youth Daily, Zhejiang Online, Qianjiang Evening News, and the Ningbo Daily. It is reported that over 4,000 people have attended ;green lifestyle events this year.
