The NIT Debate Team recently attended the national Fifth CDA (Chinese Discussion Association) Network Debate. In the first and second rounds, the ten members of the NIT team argued their points convincingly against other teams, but were unfortunately defeated by a mixed team comprised of students from Zhejiang Forestry University and Anhui Agricultural University. Their performance was still commendable, however, as the NIT debaters were ranked in the top 10 of the 78 teams participating in the event.
The CDA, which is sponsored by Contention Eloquence, the top national debate website, is a 'first brand' for national network defense. The debate contest, which was first held in 2009, has become an annual event. This year's debate was carried out electronically using ISpeak, a software platform for voice communication over the Internet.
